Orthodontics to move the teeth is usually the best option. There are other options like veneers and white filling bonding, but if the gap is very large these can be less than perfect. A cigarette sized hole is big enough, i am assuming the diameter not the length :)

Ha! Yes diameter. So can it be done? It may not turn out perfect but it cant be any worse than now. Have you any rough idea of cost? Is it an orthodontist i need to visit? To be honest i've never seen a bigger gap, it looks more like a missing tooth.

    Thank you for the reply

Not sure much can be done and at what cost?

that gap is very large almost a full tooth width and the teeth wither side are pretty small. Braces are your treatment of choice here. Are you missing a couple of teeth??

No i'm not missing any? It's huge i haven't seen a bigger one. Would braces really work though?

I can't see braces closing that gap fully. You could get an appointment with your dentist and also have a chat with an orthodontist to see what can be done. Most likely braces plus a bonding after the braces are off possibly.

How long would braces tend to be on for? And how much are they generally?

    Thanks for replies

It'll take as long as it takes... your bone and teeth may be slower to move than the next guys... I'd say 2-3 years...
Price wise, look up a registered orthodontist (dental council website), look at their fee range (from x to y) and the higher amount will be you as this is a difficult case...

The gap might be closed or it might be opened for restoration with implants or a bridge. Would need an assessment, X-ray etc. You can neither get a tooth in there nor enlarge the other teeth at the moment, braces will help with this overriding issue.

Looks like you're missing the number 2 teeth and the central incisors have drifted into the space.
There's no problem closing the space with braces but the spaces will then be in the "correct" area. Implants to replace these teeth then.
This can be simulated on stone models to show you how it should turn out.
An orthodontist or prosthodontist would be the first approach.
