Does anyone know what would be involved with regards to a former catholic returning to the church?

Person was baptised, received sacraments of eucharist and confirmation, then left the church in their 30's and converted to Islam.

What would they need to do to return to the fold?

It is recognised (see Jesuit writer James Martins) the some peoples faith journey involves a winding spiritual path that can lead from and back the the Church. So as mentioned while indeed resuming the sacrements is a good begining, it could that re-engaging with the Catholic community in other ways. Perhaps checking for parish groups or attending an Alpha course or its equivalent would provide a good foundation for their return.

Maybe chat with a priest? Returning to the fold is returning to the Sacraments. You don't need to be baptised again but confession is needed; then the Eucharist.

Thanks all. Confession attended. Was a struggle after 20+ years, but I managed it. Elderly priest was excellent in helping me through it all.

Welcome back! I'd recommend getting involved locally. I'm sure there's a prayer group, volunteering what-have-you in a parish nearby. It's a good way to meet fellow Catholics and I guarantee you'll meet some who have come back to the fold like you.
