    Hey all,

Off the bike over a year, but today decided to do a spin class, but I found it so hard to stand up while peddling. Now on the regular bike I am comfortable in and out of the saddle...

I just felt the statourary bike was so weird and awkward. Anyone ever feel this?

Yep, it feels odd. Same as on a turbo.

Static bikes cant pivot like you normally would.

I'd normally try to set up a spin bike as close to my road bike position as possible-so the saddle would be up higher than the bars. The spin bikes in my local gym also have spd pedals, so you can click into them if you bring a pair of cycling shoes. This might make a bit of a difference when you're out of the saddle, certainly feels reasonably road-like to me when the bike is set up correctly.
