    Hi all,

Looking for some advice re. flue positioning for a combi gas boiler.

Is there a minimum distance from an openable window for a vertical flue?
It's being installed on a new flat roof extension.

Also is there a minimum distance from the original back wall of the house for the vertical flue?

    Thanks!

Technical Guidance Document Part J will answer those. Also distance to adjoining properties too.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just checking up on the info my gas fitter gave me. According to him it needs to be 1.5m from the back wall of original house which sounds a bit excessive

    What does Part J say?
At the end of the day, the installer is certifying the install, and if he wants to go above and beyond the minimum regulations so that be tbh.
Don't forget that some RGI regulations or manufacturers regulations may over rule our Building Regulations.

Google “Technical Guidance Document Part J”
    I’m on the phone.

    It’s a free download PDF.
