planning required?

    Hi

Going to put in place a small workshop/garage 12m x 6m probably a steeltech or a shanettes at the rear of the existing house. However the current mic in the house will not be sufficient to run the workshop.

I am going to require a new connection from the esb for the workshop. I was looking at filling in a NC2 form but they look for a Ordnance Survey map which is no problem but they also require a site map and planning number.

Basically I was hoping the esb would come out and hook up the connection and they wouldn't require planning but going by the NC2 form it seems I do indeed need planning.

Anyone in a similar predicament or that could offer me advice i would be greatly appreciative.

So i will need to get plans drawn up so. Just looking at a rough cost. The cost of the engineer to draw up the plans, the planning permission itself, what other costs do i need to factor in? Looking for a rough cost of the planning process.

It's a shed so get a technician to draw up plans and lodge planning for you which would be cheaper than an engineer but perfectly ok. Get 3 quotes and go from there. I couldn't tell you what the costs would be.

    Where are you located?
Dublin prices for a Tech to carry out the full application could be €1k-€1250 inclusive of application fees, notices etc.

Just outside galway city. I have very little knowledge of pricing of this type.

May go up or down depending on requirements.
Will it need drainage connection? Treatment system?

Rural applications would be out of my experience tbh so I'd let someone else answer any questions.

Can you ask around for recommendations from friends, neighbours etc?

Going to ring the man that drew up plans for my brothers house recently to see what he will advise
