Fog Lights - Again

Sorry to do this again, but the message is just not getting out there. Using fog lamps either Front or Rear is against the law if not used in heavy fog or falling snow. This is mention twice in the rules of the road, once in the section for Good Driving Practice under driving at night and the other time is Vehicle Safety under lights fitted to vehicle.
Problem is that the Gardai are not enforcing the law. And the other problem is the idiots who keep driving with them on when there is NO FOG.
The only fog around is the fog between their ears!!

Please if you see someone who does this and you know them, tell them to stop. And please continue to flash the other drivers you don't know.

    regards,
Someone who is feed up with this

It's only against the law if the law is enforced. Ergo, it is not against the law!

    Hi Dommo,
Fog-lights do not dazzle oncoming Motorists, by design they give out a dissipated beam, unlike Headlights that give a more focused pencil light beam, there is very little difference between Daytime Running Lights and Fog-lights, in many Countries it is recommended that you drive with dipped headlights on at all-times, I really can't see what is causing you so much grief ??.
It seems like a good ides if you can see and be seen easier without causing other Motorists any inconvenience.
    Am I missing something ??

Clearly you are missing something. (You said it first)

Fog lights (the front ones at least are mounted a lot lower than the head lights so on shinny black road surfaces they reflect straight onto the oncoming driver's line of site and dazzle them!

I find rear fog lights more annoying by a long way.

    IBTL!
Front fogs are small spots shining downwards and people only imagine they are annoyed by them, it's like "gluten allergy".
Now rear foglights are a different matter and anyone who has them on should be executed by the side of the road.
