Query re improving sightlines - road safety

    Hi all

We moved into a house 6 months ago which has very poor sightlines as it is on a dangerous bend of a busy main road.

Since we moved in there have been 2 accidents on the stretch of road. I have contacted the roads department of the county council after each accident asking for their advice/assistance to improve the safety on the road. I haven't gotten anywhere, the engineer I spoke to didn't seem very concerned. Apart from the general safety of the road we really need to improve the sightlines if we can.

I am thinking that I now need to go a more formal route and employ a planner, engineer etc for practical professional advice (maybe someone who will also deal with the council), however I don't know much about this kind of work and was wondering if anyone knows who is the appropriate kind of professional to deal with in these circumstances and if anyone has come across this kind of issue before?

    Thanks very much

Arrange a pre planning meeting and request feedback from the relevant engineer prior to meeting. From there hire a technician to prepare the planning application if one is needed to improve sightlines or reposition or alter the entrance as necessary. If you're relying on altering neighbours boundary you'll need their permission.
