Car returned for repair 3 times

    Hi

Whats the situation with this ?

Car purchased last year , 3 months old from dealer, 23,000 euro.
    Still under manufacturers warranty.

Have had the car back in the garage with the same problem for repair 3 times already.
Next week it goes back again for repair, 4th time with same repeat problem.

Each time the dealer and the manufacturer head office assure me it has been fixed.

Obviously its becoming a complete nuisance having to return the car for repair .

Where do I stand legally on this ? What rights/advantages do I have ?

Can I just expect to have to return it every time for repair ?

    Thank you

Probably have grounds to request a replacement vehicle at this stage assuming it's the EXACT SAME repair having been carried out.

Describe the problem exactly. A light switch that keeps failing is quite different to a fueling or turbo fault. I'd probably call a compromise with the garage and have a specialist look at it. You mention a dealer but you don't say if they are a main dealer or head office, some dealers outsource their work to indy specialists. Again, describe the problem as the avenues are quite different depending on the issue.

Faulty glow plugs/glow plugs inbalance causing lack of power/vehichle shuddering when accelerating

Main Dealer garage,I also involved the manufacture head office as I was getting "fobbed off " by the dealer.

They have had their own " expert engineer " assess it, assure me its fixed, yet here we go again.

4th time back there next week.

Write to the dealer OP. You need to formalise this issue.

Detail the dates and attempts to fix the fault, and tell them that if it isn't properly fixed this time you intend to reject the vehicle as being of unmerchantable quality, and that you'll expect a full refund under the Sale of Goods Act.

It's time for them to step up, or cough up.

Thank you,I shall contact them again in writing tomorrow and outline that I want it resolved finally or I will go legal. The idea had crossed my mind already.
The manufacturer customer after sales manage in Ireland has been very helpful ,unfortunately the dealer ain't so good.

    .

Are the glow plugs the only problem?
Arent glow plugs used for heating the car when starting the car?
How can they cause shuddering and lack of power?

might we ask the make or model of car involved please?

The 3 times they have returned the car to me they have said the fault lay with the glow plugs/wrong imbalance set on them causing the vehicle not to have full power/shuddering when accelerating.
You put the foot to the floor on the accelerator, you can feel the shaking /vibration and no real fast power (2litre diesel).

Rather not say at the moment considering what I have posted and the chances if I reveal the model of car ,that somebody involved in the dealer or the manufacturer might see it.

Probably being a bit paranoid but have to get it sorted first and will then gladly reveal all.
Thanks to all for their opinions and advice so far

That makes no sense. It is fuel or injector related surely.

You could well me right,my knowledge of the workings of a cars is limited.
I would have expected a squad of mechanics at a main dealer plus the head offices of the manufacturers engineer to solve it,but no.
Let's see what next week brings. 23k spent and 12 months later not a happy camper after 3 trips to the garage and 1 more next week.

is the car used for small trips and no motorway burns as it sounds like a car with a dpf fitted and trying to go into burn mode.
problem is many motorists think diesel is the way to go but fail in thinking of their driving habits.
reason i asked make it could be common issue, tried google also?
