Turbo trainer rear wheel/gear indexing question....

I recently started using a tacx blue motion turbo I got second hand.
Only have the one bike, so I put the turbo tyre on the old giant pr2 wheel I had, and switch back to the campag zonda when i go out on the road.
But the campag has a spacer for the 10 speed 105 gearing on the bike, that is not on the old wheel being used with the turbo.
Ive noticed the gear cable frayed to pieces at the front mech, so I had to get it changed today.
Im wondering if the fact the gears aree indexed for the campag wheel is the cause of the cable being strained? Any ideas?

Can't see how the selection of cassette or wheel would have any bearing on the front mech cable.

    Short answer. No.

Cheers. Its the same cassette on both the giant wheel used for the turbo and the campag road wheel. Only diff is a spacer on the campag for 10 speed shimano 105 cassette.

This is the bain of my life at the moment. Was actually go in to post a 'please help' message yesterday.

Using the same turbo with separate turbo wheel on my only bike. When I change the wheels the gears are off. Using an 11sp 105 cassette on the turbo. Ultegra on the road wheel.

Can't figure it out at all. Worked fine initially. Bit of chain rub on the front now.

Im convinced theres an issue myself. Gonns keep an eye on it nowI have the bike back, if it happens again its undoubtedly the case.
Are your two wheels different as mine are (giant w/o spacer on cassette, zonda w/ spacer on cassette)?

Yep diff wheel. Using a shimano rs11 cheap b cheerful with 11sp 105 cassette on the turbo and mavic aksium with ultegra 11sp cassette. No spacers at all. Just read a review on the rs11 that one user found the cassette to oscillate up and down and wobble on the hub which I've noticed mine do also. ..

So many variables it's hard to pin point the problem. .

I've read some people just using the trainers levels rather than the bikes gears once they find a single cog to use that doesn't require re indexing your bikers after every use...One way to go but I liked using the bike gears too..

Nothing is ever fecking simple is it?! I might stick with the same wheel for indoor and outdoor if it continues to be an issue, sure once March is over, 90% of my cycles will be outdoors.
