Hi have 2001 avensis . Just recently got the altonater rebuilt upon fitting new recon altonater , the engine oil light came on . Hi have 2001 avensis . Just recently got the altonater rebuilt upon fitting new recon altonater , the engine oil light came on . Very low pressure when tested , sump removed and pick up gauze blocked .so cleaned and was showing good pressure. Next day oil light came back on flickered then on and stayed on i hit a bump and oil light went off only to come back on and stay on but this time loss of power and engine cut out. Tried starting but felt like the battery was dead . I got a tow truck and brought home. But now the car starts and runs .other than engine oil pressure light there was no engine light on to show a fault . There is no knocking noises in the engine so might be lucky . Any ideas anyone only 135kmls , timing belt done at 105kmls
