Ryanair flight change

I know this was discussed before but I'm still not clear do please please help me.

Last night my wife booked a return flight to Madrid for our teenage son. Within minutes of booking flight she learned she booked wrong dates and asked me to help. We went to manage booking and changed fight dates and we understood Ryanair give a 24hr grace period from time of original booking.

So just checked online banking and it appears that changing the booking is a waste of time as our bank statement shows we were billed twice for both the original booking and then the new dates also.

What's the point in rescheduling flight dates in s booking if I'm going to be billed twice anyway? Am I missing something?

ring the help desk immediately and explain as you should have gone to them to change the flights

There was an error with a booking I made recently in terms of the dates and I tweeted Ryanair who responded almost immediately telling me to contact the call center. I did and they made the amendment with no additional charge. All fixed within a few minutes of the error being discovered.

Presumably the website isn't geared up for the customer to make these changes without incurring a charge.

I just took a look now at the FAQ's on the Ryanair site and it seems to tally with my experience, but makes no reference to just amending it yourself via the Manage tab.

Thanks folks i just called ryanair helpdesk and they are issuing a €60 refund to our card,

Apparently i should have waited until this morning and called them on the phone during office hours.

Happy now with the €60 refund :)

Happy now with the €60 refund although I lose €30 as I had paid €90

I have to say, this new customer-friendly Ryanair is very unsettling. :)

Pity they didn't bother issuing customers with the €10 voucher they promised four months ago for signing up to MyRyanair...
