Not sending back learner permit after receiving full license

    Hey all,

I recently received my full license in the post after passing my test two weeks ago, the sheet on which it came on has an address on it for which I should send my learners permit to. It would be handy if I could keep it as a form of I.d rather than using my full license.

Has anybody not sent there's back and is there any consequences or follow ups as to why not?

    Dylan,

Send it back. If you want an age card just apply for one separately. It's not expensive nor is it much hassle. Why would you create hassle for yourself by not sending back your Permit....

I know I could do that but if there was no follow up it'd be the handiest solution just to keep it. Is there any follow up if you keep it do you know?

I would have to assume there is a follow up. You're being a bit ridiculous here.

I forgot to send mine back, never heard anything, why not just use your full license for ID though it's the same credit card size as the learners.

They won't follow it up at the moment however they do keep track of returned licences on their system.

Aside from that there's no reason that you would want to use your expired learner permit for ID purposes over your valid full licence. Even if you lose your full licence you can easily get a replacement.

I must have missed this letter...didn't know you had to return the permit at all! Must see if I still have the envelope it came in. Whoops.
