Clearing my throat

Hi all, just looking for some advice.

Off the smokes 6 months today. Feel better in every aspect. Even back exercising now.

However, ever since I quit, I have had this constant throat clearing. It's basically like feeling mucus/sputum or this wet feeling in your throat and the urge to clear it every minute is ridiculous. I sometimes just hack it up and spit it out but, instead of phlegm, it's just clear saliva with tiny little brown flecks, which I assume is tar/tobacco from my chest.

    Has anyone had this?
    How long does it last?

It's incredibly annoying and frustrating. Especially after going to the trouble and hard times of quitting
