There is a case to be made for umpires to oversee the same sets of backs and forwards throughout the entire game including extra time, this would necessitate the umpires moving from goal to goal, when players realise that the same sets of eyes are on them all the time they may be inclined to be more disciplined.

The green and white score flags should always be placed in the same position one right and left of the post, and just put out willy nilly.

Especially in hurling if you are seated at the back of the Cusack Stand far from the action you will immediately know what was scored as you see the umpire reach for the flag.

The Forum on Spirituality has been closed for years. Please bring it back, there are lots of Spiritual people in Ireland and elsewhere.
