    Hi folks,

I was just wondering if I would be eligible for the non adjacent grant. The distance from my house to WIT is 45.1 km and from WIT back to my house is 48.5 km (from Google Maps). I'm struggling with lifts every week
    Thanks

If you are over the 45km limit then you do qualify for the non-adjacent grant.

Google Maps is used to calculate the distance from your home to the college but toll roads are excluded from this calculation and then shortest route is used.
If however the distance is very close to the 45km threshold, an average of Google Maps and the AA Route Planer is used to calculate a more accurate distance.

How come you are further away from college on the home journey?

**sorry corrected my error with being over the threshold.

Being over 45km from the college leaves you eligible for the non-adjacent rate subject to the specified income limits

I don't know why its further away from college to home, its just what Google Maps says. I was reading up on Boards that if its different they will take away both numbers and then divide by 2 to get the middle number.

No they take an average of google maps and aa route planner but they would only use 1 journey on each search. It would always be from the home to the college and they would exclude toll roads.
