Sounds in Chrome - Windows XP

Using windows XP at work and I've been using Chrome for years. Today I'm having trouble with sound all of a sudden. I tried to play a video (Vimeo) and the sound won't work. I played the same video last week without issue!! Sound is turned on and working on the computer and even Youtube videos will play fine. The video on Vimeo will play in Internet Explorer. I've also noted that the sound icon on the tab that comes up when a tab is playing sounds is there but there's no sound playing through the speakers.

Any suggestions? Chrome is up to date, I've even uninstalled and reinstalled it! There's obviously some setting somewhere that I can't find.

More likely that Chrome has been updated, and not tested against XP on the basis that it's long out of support now. If you can get an older version of Chrome that works, that will be your best clue, but if it is revision related, don't hold your breath on a fix for the issue, unless it's also affecting other (later) versions of Windows

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
