I went away for a year and my policy lapsed in that time , previous to that I'd built up 7 years claim free . I was just wondering is that gone now or could I get some discount for it? I understand policy prices seem to be more than before, everything I drove was under a litre engine size and over 12 years old. Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Generally you keep an NCD for 2 years after the last policy.

ask for a copy of ur no claims bonus, some insurance companies only give you 18 months - others 2 years
