XDUOO X2/X3 Players

Does anyone know much about these players?
They'll remind many of the sansa clip.

    XDUOO WEBSITE

I see them appearing more and more often on Russian, then German forums - and many people praising them.
The XDUOO X2 apparently has it's flaws (lack of playlist support and low internal memory) but still seems to get good reviews.

Reviews aside, the price has rocketed up in the past few weeks I've been watching it, from $26 to $49.99 on Tomptop

While I was watching that one, I hadn't realised the X3 was released, and is for sale on Banggood for $110USD :eek: (Although you can use a code to drop the price to $82USD - XDUOOX32) - The promotion is how I realised the X3 was released.

I was going to (and now wish I did) buy the X2 when it was around $30, but don't think I will at $50, and I have no intentions of splashing out $82, let alone $110 for the X3.

    Are they really worth that?

Has anyone tried them? - Reviews that I could find (apart from forum threads using google/bing translate) seem to be the same type of reviews that you find for a lot of Chinese stores/products - Branded with the store name splashed all over the video, meaning the reviewer probably got it for free and probably wouldn't normally review audio equipment, also, as they probably didn't pay for it, their opinion would be less critical.

    Some info on both players.

    XDUOO X2
    - OLED two color display
    - Diagonal 0.96 "
    - One MicroSD slot up to 64GB.
    - Digital equalizer
    - Processor: AK2117

    - Power: LMH6634
    - Gain: 3 dB
    - Headphones Impedance: 8 ohms - 300 ohms
    - Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz
    - Battery: 500 mA / h
    - Working time on one charge: more than 10 hours
    - Charging time: about 2 hours
    - Dimensions: 70.6x40.6x12.5mm
    - Weight: 50 g
    - Body Material: Metal
    - Supported formats: FLAC, APE, WAV, WMA, MP3

As they are appearing more and more, I'm really regretting not having snapped up the X2.

I found some reviews on Head-Fi.Org.
    Seem to be good.
But the end of the thread (IMO the more important part) are mixed.

    and

Possibly the best budget audiophile player for 2015 - (BUDGET!!)

I've found the XDUOO X2 for €30 from a reputable seller on AE (for anyone that may be interested :p).
Cheapest I've seen anywhere else is $50, so I think this may be worth buying, but I can't decide.. :/:)
I'm a bit skint at the minute, and don't need another player yet..

    Bought it. :D

I put it in my basket, read a bit more on a few sites, mostly head-fi. I went back to AE and saw it said 'limited supply'. The only down side I have read is that the screen is too reflective, for €30 I can accept that.

If I had bought it last night I would have saved myself 16cents. :pac:

It arrived today, just now, but I'm not there so haven't seen it yet.
So, Ordered on the 8th -> 25th to get here.
    Not bad, 2½ weeks.
I forgot to Take into account that they were in the middle of their New Year holidays when I ordered, which the entire Country takes off. They arrived back from holidays on the 15th/16th I think, which would greatly lessen the shipping time. If they posted it on the day they got back it would mean it took 9-10 days.
I ordered other stuff (mostly tat) at the same time, and none of those items have arrived yet.

Looking forward to seeing and playing with this! :D

Whats it like ? Mostly concerned about the UI. Long time rockbox user and don't think I could cope going to another UI. The 2* sd card slots are tempting tho for the X3.

The sound quality is great, especially for €30. I have tried a few different headphones on it and played RATM, Arcade Fire, Bob Marley, Eels, Savant and DJ Shadow. I didn't have to adjust anything.
I obviously have a lot more sounds to try on it and see how it fairs then, but all in all, I'm very happy with it.
For the price, I definitely recommend getting one.
The seller I bought from has put the price back up to $50, but it is here for €32.66 and $3 off if you download and use the app.

    This review is at $50

Regarding Rockbox, doesn't seem possible with the Xduoo X2 unfortunately, but it seems to be moving forward with the X3.

The interface on the X2 is very basic. You wouldn't have any issue with it.
Screen is very refelective in daylight, a mirror almost.

For €30 - Go for it. Excellent sound on this player. I'm well chuffed I got it, and more so at the price :D

I will definitely be looking at the X3 and the Fiio X1 after buying this.

The basic play function is "Play Folder".
That is it. It was a bit annoying, but I have created a couple of 'playlist' folders. I have just put songs into separate folders and call them playlist 1, 2, 3 etc..

The sound quality is excellent. The functions are basic.
I bought a couple of pairs of KZ earphones a while back, and they are excellent paired with it (they are with pretty much anything) and have to say, even after a few days messing about with it, using it for long walks and general moving around, I still love it. :)
My only grumble would have been the playlist, but that is easily sorted, so not an issue.

I would normally play through folders anyway so that's no biggie. Assuming the X3 was the same. What's put me off it now those is learning of a pitch issue on the X3. maybe I'll wait and see how Rockbox progresses.

I'm after reading over a ton of info on the Xduoo X3 and the Fiio X-

    Rockbox Request
    Fiio X1/X3/X5 possibly X7 Rockbox

    Rockbox
    Fiio X1
    Fiio X3
    Fiio X5 and Fiio X5

    XDuoo X3

It's tough as nuts to decide which one to go for.. I am stuck between both X3's.

The XDuoo X2 was mainly for bringing on messy trips/Stags/parties etc. But now I think it's way too good for that. I am mostly using it with my ED9's. I have bought a pair of Havi B3 Pro's and I am dancing on my tippytoes everytime I know the postman is due :D.

Went for the Xduoo X3 in the end. Waiting on it to be delivered now.

Cool, please let us know how you get on with it.

I just read over my above posts, before I had one. shows how little faith I had in Chinese manufacturers. Glad to be proven wrong on this occasion.

Where did you buy the Xduoo X3 from? I'm loving the X2, but wish I had gone for the X3 when it was $82 ..... grass is always greener...
I'm really stuck between the Fiio X3 and the Xduoo X3 at the minute, I'll be definitely buying one before April and they seem pretty evenly matched.

A firmware update on the X2 allows me to play random/shuffle songs and also allows the player to play some higher quality flac files which it previously couldn't.

Colorfly C3 is ~ €50 delivered. I've seen it crop up in quite a few forums, and it gets great reviews for sound quality, but I don't really like the touch sensitive controls. €50 delivered is a great price, but because there is also a possible €20 tax and handling, it's still a great price, but makes it less appealing to me.

I got the X2 a few days ago and find some flac files don't work and shuffle only works with a folder and isn't always very random

What's the latest firmware version? I did check the website but didn't see any version newer than what it came with, v7

Can you do playlists or play all files?
I get a 'no file list' message when I try play all

Very happy with sound from it, strong clear bass, not too bright, lots of volume if needed. Custom equaliser would have been nice but the few presets seem okay. Paid £34 for the X2 on amazon, ordered last Wednesday, arrived on monday

Most of this info comes from this giant thread.

    XDUOO X2 doesn't support/play 24/96 Flac files - You'll need to resample them

Or if 24/96 isn't the issue

Some also reporting you have to remove tags. - http://www.mp3tag.de/en/

The newest Firmware is v7.0 - Which apparently allows for shuffling all songs.
    Some information about Firmware v7.0

    more HERE
7 firmware version did the normal sort alphabetically, but, according to many users, it worsened the sound, so everyone is waiting for the firmware with sound 6 version and functions 7.

There is a firmware on 4pda.ru (By Tony Z from Tennmak) that I haven't yet tried, that is supposed to be better (I 'upgraded' to v7.0 before I read that)
Original Link - Google Translated Link

LINK TO FIRMWARE 6.1E from Tennmak (Scroll down)
    I'll be installing that tonight.

Some good info here for organising files and folders.
    Using Winamp to Organise
And alternative methos (I prefer above method)
    Organising Files and Folders Alphabetically

I'm after buying the MONKs as they're back on sale for $5 (~€6.87 delivered) and the KZ's I have with this have an excellent 'fuller' sound. I don't honestly know a better way to describe it.
The Original KZ HDS3 are on the way :)
In the habit of listening to a lot of bootlegs at the minute, so I am appreciating this a lot more than I may have otherwise, for now.

There are 3 revisions of the Xduoo X2, I'm not yet sure (apart from buttons) what the overall differences are.)
    The First Revision: 2014-March 2015, no serial number, bad buttons;
    The Second Revision: April 2015 - June 2015, serial number, bad buttons;
The Third Revision; Jule 2015 - Now, serial number, FCC, new good buttons.

Thanks, does seem to be the tags that are the problem, flac with v2 tags, so would either need to remove tags or convert to v1

Must try the organising of files later

I put the 6.1 Firmware on it a few days ago, and it does make a big difference. FW 7.0 was kind of muffled voice, especially on live stuff.

I'm after reading a little more (tons more), and found that the Hippo Mu is a very similar player as the Xduoo X2 and both firmwares will work with each other.
Hippo Mu are apparently releasing a firmware for theirs that will support playlists. That would be excellent.

I had this player for 2 months and loved it, but dropped it into the shannon on a stag :( - (Previously had a nomad jukebox robbed abroad). After that I decided to leave the expensive players for a while and now I find myself creeping back up now :D after stumbling into Chinese Daps.
I am really liking the X2, and have decided to go for the X3 (Xduoo).
This seems a good price, with a free pair of VSD1S earphones (~€25).
A few people have said that it beats the Fiio X1 easily, but the Fiio X3 beats it (almost double the price), and a little further reading has one or two claiming it to be the best they've ever listened to (including the Fiio X3 and X5).
I must say I had no idea at all about the Chinese players, and the range, quality and reviews have left me very surprised (in a good way). You could spend quite a bit of money easily, but also have quite a lot to show for it. There are tons of high quality DAPS/Manufacturers.

Anyway, Rockbox on the X3 (Google Translated Version)

I ended up getting the xduoo x3. Have had it for a few weeks. Great player and made all the better with rockbox. granted I hadn't used the original OS. other than to load rockbox.
The two sd card slots is so handy!
