I set at it on Saturday and got a lot done but I need another few hours to sort the carpet.

Car is a 2002 Toyota Yaris and was sitting up for 35 days without been sat in so it was very damp and full of growth so bad it was everywhere from ceiling to floor, car door cards, dash, boot, belts and so on.

I got some bits off detailingshed.com and had advice picked up on from other very helpful posters on boards.

I used 50cal. carpet & upholstery cleaner with great results and a nice smell off it also.
Also I had my George Numatic which made it so much easier to get the main dust particles and other gunge out. I added 50cal to the water and sprayed onto the seats while extracting after.

The water was black as coal when done and full of grit at the bottom.

Here are some photos and I will add more as I get more done.

Photos not loading will work on that.......

    Same here for the photo.

Are you sure you don't have water leaking into the car to make it so damp? My car sits up for long periods of time outdoors and it's never gotten mouldy.

It was full of condensation on the windows as with the none stop rain and the car since new has never actually had a proper clean.

It was tested over the last 7 years with accidental spills and the likes.

I would never eat yoghourts or drink milk in a car but the oh let the little one do all that and more so it got a chance to start growing.

Best way of explaining until get photos up is think of a white pan of bread and what it looks like left for 6 months.....

Will you be putting any dehumidifier in it I'd suggest grabbing a few from aldi or lidl and drop them in the footwells for a week or so.

You need to pull the damp out of he air in the car it shouldn't be that mouldly unless there is a leak.check all rubbers around the window frames havent perished check the boot well isnt missing a bung check the carpets in the footwells could be missing a bung there too.

Thats too much damp just from normal use and sitting up for a few weeks has to be getting into the interior from outside

Hi have dehumidifier in it and ran with heating to dry seats.

It was mainly growth from all the dirt and milk and other spills.
