Was thinking the first reply seemed pretty low, 1389 euro wouldnt be too bad of a price.

Are you buying or selling them and what bull are they in calf to?

He was taking the piddle out of you so I took the piddle out of him. They should be good enough trade but being crossed with dairy cows mightn't intice too many buyers.

Heifers calving at 2 years are poor sellers unless they are exceptionally strong. April is a late calver and aa cross from fr wouldn't be many lads choice.

Sorry for the negativity but I'd say that you would do very well to get 1000e . What star rating are they as might be the only thing to push them on if they were 4 or 5 star

Too late calving and the wrong type of cow. If you had them out at the moment you'd struggle to break 1000. And I'd class the springer trade good at the moment.

Sure Id be better off keeping them at that rate, youd make more money selling her back in calf Id say? theyre in calf to Fty LM bull. Ill try upload a picture of the last calf I had from the bull Ahz from a Heifer that calved at two years if I can, he turned into a nice animal.

selling calf at foot and back in calf would be a better way but even better again might be to keep the calf to weanling and sell separately and fatten the heifer.

You'd be keeping both until the autumn but you could end up, rough figures, of say 800/900e for the calf depending on quality and maybe close to 1000e for the heifer in the factory.

I actually done something like that before, the cow calved at 2 years old to a WH I didnt bother putting her back in calf and I sold her at 36 months for 1100 and her calf at 16 months for 1200 euro which I was quiet happy with. The only reason im considering selling the Heifers now is due to a lack of grass and the money could have went towards reseeding (if it was good enough for them)
