Undertakers in South Dublin

Would anyone know if it was common practice to use the services of a firm of undertaker for burials in the late 1800's early 1900's in south Dublin (Dundrum, Sandyford) or was it more informal, perhaps with individuals performing certain functions to local Cemeteries.
If there were firms, any ideas of the names.
    Many thanks.
