I have efibre from Eir at the moment. Is it possible to say what speeds I should achieve from the line attenuation figures. They are as follows 20.5db & 44.5db.
A line check on the eir website returns a max speed of 40mbps, I currently get 17.
    Thanks

1500m from the DSLAM. 17Mb sounds about right. Charts suggest 15Mb.

If the prequal is 40Mb either its wrong OR you've got a crappy cable thats increasing signal attenuation.

    Call eir and troubleshoot.

contacted eir this am, they were able to up the speed to 28 up & about 7.5 down. Would not have known about this only for Vodafone reps at the door yesterday insisting I should be getting 40 mb, guy at eir said he could set my profile to 40 but it may be unstable on occasion. Anyway, happy with the increase.
