Lads, I need help. I am currently on a plane to Iceland. It will not be possible to load my luggage until the next flight, which is on Friday. The airline has offered no compensation. The airline staff say that they can't open the hold to load the luggage. I've no idea what to do. All my thermals, jackets and jumpers are in that luggage.

    Any help really appreciated.

You have some rights in relation to delayed luggage under EU regulations, which would require you to buy new stuff and reclaim - however it covers essentials only. However, in this case them not carrying the baggage at all and informing in advance isn't necessarily going to be covered. Have they still charged you their checked baggage fee?

Would Iceland not being in the EU effect this rights?

Off the top of my head most EU Regs cover business that carry on their business in the EU.

Flight with one end in the EU is still covered by the regs, additionally Iceland is in EFTA and the EU Open Skies.
