Just trying to move to a Redmi Note 3. When I go to pick location no European options are offered. ATM I have picked South Africa. That screws up the system time. The phone runs on MIUI 7.0 and Android Ver. 5.0.2 LRX22G. Anybody point me to how I get a more comprehensive list of locales so that I might get the system to work this side of China? Thanks

Sorry to bring up this thread, but I have just bought one and have the same problem. Did you ever find a resolution? I also picked South Africa but haven't noticed any bad side effects of doing so. The system time seems fine, getting it off the local network I think. Mine has MIUI 7.2.5.0 and Android 5.1.1 LMY47V.

No I haven't been able to get around the locale issue but that doesn't really cause any problems. My main problem is connecting by bluetooth to my car audio system. It connects but my contacts do not get uploaded to the car. This is causing me lots of problems, as I use the dual sim. This was the main reason I got the phone - the dual sim and the screen size/memory etc. But I am beginning to be sorry about the investment.

Checked mine with the car this evening and I do get the contacts uploaded to the car. I bought it for travel outside the EU to use 2 SIMs (local one for data) so haven't really used it in anger yet but so far no major problems.

I wonder if I got it upgraded to "MIUI 7.2.5.0 and Android 5.1.1 LMY47V" like you have would it work. Thing is I don't know how one would go about doing that.

Under settings, about phone, right down the bottom there's a "System updates" option on mine. I did an update soon after I got it but didn't pay attention to what it started with. Worth a try though to see if it will update to the latest.
