    Hello,

I have furze growing along a passageway and I want to spray it...

I see it's begining to flower now, so...

    - is it too early to spray, or can I spray from now on?
    - will Gallup kill it?

    Thanks.

Too early?? dont think so once rain holds off..

Will it kill it, sort of yes, it kills the portions that are sprayed, if you spray a high enough % of the total bush it kills the whole thing..

We sprayed a good bit last spring and I'd say overall an 80-90% kill, this spring should see it done for..

The flowering now is very strange.
I'd leave them another few weeks

I'd say it was April/May when we sprayed last year.

Yeah early to have flowers all right... I thought the same...

But that's what put spraying into my head...

I would like to spray before March, as wheat will be going into the field they're beside and I wouldn't like any Gallup to drift over...

EDIT : was it Gallup you sprayed with Brian?

Similar prob here on some poorish reclaimed ground, a lot of young furze plants shooting up again. Was told a heavy coating of slurry would wipe them out, but it's got slurry twice now and they're still thriving. I was gonna use grazing 90 or scrubkiller in a knapsack. Which would be best? Definitely not a fan of round up as it will kill any grass around the plant as well

Neighbour sprayed grazon90 on some in grass, did a good job.

Mine are on a passageway, so don't care about grass...

Is there a month of the year that furze doesn't flower.

Grazon 90 is handy as it's selective and doesn't damage surrounding grass.

However we used Gallup at regular dosage and it killed them fine. Some grass damage but I could live with that.

    Grazon90 only stuff for them

Way too early it will kill but you won't get long term control and regrowth in a couple of years again

Grazing 90 or a similar suitable for furze is the only worthwhile spray

So you saying Gallup wont kill em long term, but Grazon90 will?

I had assumed that as Grazon90 was selective it would be less likely to kill?
