Removing acrylic sealant

Hi

I need to remove acrylic sealant from around the bottom of the shower as it has got quite grotty.

I'm looking for a chemical remover something along the lines of this http://www.woodiesdiy.com/Product/unibond-all-purpose-silicone-sealant-remover-150ml/11281/2.23.3 except this is for silicone sealant and I need something for acrylic sealant, if possible from a bricks and mortar shop but online is an option too.

As in tec7 or fix-all sealer?

I don't know for sure but I'd try scraping out and cleaning with white spirit.

Usually a Stanley blade , Stanley knife and a small flat head screwdriver also a big ol dollop of elbow grease helps then clean down with acetone

Be careful of acetone, it will eat the surface of a plastic shower tray.

As in Dow Corning Shower and Bath Sealant - Solvent free acrylic.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I know elbow grease is probably necessary but I was hoping for something that would dissolve the sealant first to make it easier to take it off. The sealant is very hard and therefore difficult to take off with a knife etc.

True but used moderately it'd be needed to clean any grease or soap residue from the joint to ensure a water tight bond between the tray and tile
That acrylic seal usually comes away once you cut/ scrape a track out of the middle. Never liked using it myself as there's very little elasticity in it.
