guys i have just returned from a work trip to the inside of my car covered in mould

it was sitting up on my drive for the last month nobody has driven it

the mould is all over the seats, console, steering wheel and mats and vents
    it has air conditioning

it's an old audi tt convertible worth c. 2k

i'm due to tax and insure it which inevitably will cost a grand

how much does anyone reckon it'll cost to clean and purge the a/c and is it worth it vs just scrapping or parting the car.

audi parts arent cheap i would have thought there some money in it.

It sounds like the covertable roof may not be watertight. To get rid of the mold, you could try carpet and upholstery cleaner, and antibacterial/antifungal spray, then close all vents and run a dehumidifier to try and remove as much moisture as possible.

You'll need to find out how the moisture got in though, and fix that too

    thanks

i ve read through the link the biggest issue is that there a lot of labour to fix, you risk having to replace/repair the roof and i still need to do the tax and insurance.

    is it worth it?

Depends. Do you like the car? Can you afford to trade up? What would you get for the TT in its current state?

You'll have to work out the financials involved in changing cars vs fixing up. Take into account the fact that you (presumably) know this car, and any other second hand car is an unknown to a certain extent

With a lot of elbow grease and soapy water and white vinegar you can remove the mould. Depending on how bad the seats are you may have to remove the fabric and wash it.

Get a couple quotes from local detailers and make a decision.
