Porch construction new build

We are planning the construction of our new house. We are thinking if going timber frame with a block outer skin. The house is a traditional cottage design.
My consern is with the porch detail.

    a) Should I construct it outside the main insulated envelope or,
    b) Should I erect the frame and porch together.

Option a) allows for a totally insulated envelope to the main house and simplifys to a degree the build for the porch in terms of cold bridging. This option would probably require an inner lobby door with good thermal performance.

Option b) creates a problem in relation to supporting the block work over the porch roof. A lentil to support the block work is carried over the block and timber inner leaf.

One of the timber frame companies thinks that option b will be fine.

However I'm unsure, and maybe there is a better way.

I would really appreciated some advice.

It won't let me upload a picture but its a very traditional style cottage with a small A roof porch to the front. The ridge of the porch is below the eaves of the main house.
