Hi, my fiance and I are hoping to get married in the Basque Country this year, very small wedding, just the two of us. However, we are at a bit of a loss as to where to begin, English speaking priest, paper work etc etc. We would be VERY grateful for any help, or advice, you could give us.

    Many thanks!!

    Hi Mallowgarry,

Getting married in Spain this year myself. ðŸ’႒ðŸ’႒Only starting to plan now & also a bit lost so afraid I can't be of much help. We've booked our church, the priest does not speak English but is happy for us to invite an English speaking priest. Like Ireland the church organises all the paper work, so no need for separate civil ceremony. We have been asked to give birth, baptismal & pre-marriage course certs to our priest in Ireland who will send them to the bishopric to be stamped & then we'll send them to Spain. Will let you know if we find any English speaking priests, we'll be based near Madrid.

    Good luck with the planning!
