    Hiya,

Not to sure if I'm posting in the right place so bear with me. I got a three modem a while back (60gb) and would like to connect the tv I have to it. According to the tv instructions it says I have to use a router connected to the internet, problem is that the modem is a wireless yoke and I cant connect the router to it, is it possible to get a wireless yoke to plug into the router to pick up the three modem? Apologies if I haven't explained my problem clearly.:o

What model of Router do you have?
If your TV has wifi it can connect to the wifi network that your router creates, NB, not all TV have WiFi but will have an ethernet cable at the rear of the tv to connect to the internet.
i.e you may need something like this http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/accessories/tv-accessories/WIS12ABGNX/XEC
Also what model tv do you have

Apologies for only getting back to this now. It's a Philips tv (2010/11). It has an eternet connection at the back. I bought a tp link but still can't seem to connect to the net tv. When I click on the net tv on the menu it tells me im connected to the home network but says something about an update required. Also, do I need a memory card for the tv?

There was a Wi-Fi USB Adapter available for Philips TV's of that era...
    http://www.philips.ie/c-p/PTA01_00/wi-fi-usb-adaptor

Other than that you would need a wifi to ethernet bridge to 'convert' wifi to wired ethernet.

    Thanks for replying.
I had hoped that the TP link would do that but can't seem to get it working. Is there much in setting up that usb adaptor...not good with these things

I never set one up but I'm sure it's just a matter of following the guides. Does the tp-link have a bridge mode?

When you say bridge mode...as in the tp receives the wifi and then is connected to the tv with an eternet cable then yes...

Have a search for guides on bridging tp-link routers, for example...

    What is the exact model?
I have a feeling that NetTV no longer exists. maybe try browsing to www.google.ie on the browser.
If the tv is telling you an update is needed, that means it was able to communicate with the philips servers.
Dont think you need a USB stick to update the tv firmware.

    Hiya,

Thanks for that. I managed to update the tv with the latest update. Still no joy with the net tv. Tv is telling me there is no internet connection so I reckon I have the TP link gadget set up wrong. Reckon I'll have to get someone out to set it up.

How did you update the TV?
Can you plug a laptop/skybox/some other device into the ethernet cable to make sure internet is working?

Hiya, I got a new USB stick and got the latest update fro the Philips link you sent me, put USB into tv and she updated automatically.
Never thought of trying ethernet cable on another device , gonna try that tonight

tbh it's going to be a lot of effort for a disappointing result. NetTV has been abandoned by Philips and a lot of the apps wont work or be pretty much unusable. You should consider getting a media STB which will allow you more flexibility, something like Roku or Apple TV.
