I have an old Honda Civic which I drive as a second car since I prefer not to bring my newer one to my workplace. I'm keeping the Honda since its been in the family for years now. The rear trailing arm bushings are knackered and I need them done. Bought the bushings myself online and I'm finding it hard to get somone to fit them. Everywhere I go I'm told for warranty purposes they only want to use their own supplied parts? The parts I bought are OEM and they still won't fit them... Anyone recommend a good garage to get the job done?

Had to replace these same bushings in a mondeo and I bought them online and didnt have a problem getting them fitted tbh, maybe if you say where you are based someone might be able to recommend a garage

South side. The NCT is not until April but I want to get the work done now so I don't have to worry about it later on. There is a fair but of movement on the trailing arms, it feels very dodgy on roundabouts at the back end.

Anyone know anything about Browns garage there in tallaght? They are just behind Topaz. Someone mentioned them to me to have a look into them.

Why did you buy the bushes in the first place when you could not do the job?

I fancied giving it a go however it seems you have to buy a special Honda bushing extraction tool to remove them. The tool is near €100 and surely a garage would do it for around that price for me.

True, but it won't be an easy diy job to do on the driveway.

Know a bit. They closed down a few years back. Couldn't cut it with a big First Stop garage beside them.

It's not an easy job when you have a ramp....

I got these done on a mk4 mondeo

I bought the bushes and was hoping to do them myself but turns out its a pig of a job without the right tool for these bushes

Left it in with mechanic he said it takes around 45 mins a side and thats him with the tool and knowing exactly what he was at, glad I didnt even attempt them tbh

How much did it cost you?

How much did it cost you?

    Bushes cost €60

    Labour cost €120

I also got a diesel filter changed so need to factor that into the labour so id say about €100 or so for the labour
