Have An Post stopped charging for redelivery?
I just used the online service there and there's usual the pay with credit card but it wasn't there this morning.. so it went through without paying?!
    Bizarre!

Folks I'm going to hi-jack this thread rather than start a new one. I'm sure i'll get a quicker answer than trying to get one from An Post.

I need to send a flat c3 envelope (457mm x 324mm) abroad, which means it qualifies as a packet as opposed to a large envelope. When something falls into the packet category, can I still just send as normal post in a post box with stamps? Sorry if it seems like a stupid question.

Incidentally, the item I am sending (325mm x 255mm) is below the large envelope limit of 400mm x 300mm. If I was to fold and tape the c3 envelope to this size and send in the large envelope category, would I get nabbed and not delivered?

    Thanks for your help

Once the handling size is within the limits it can be sent as that size. So yes, if you fold in and tape to 400x300 size it will go as large envelope.

Yes, you can simply affix correct postage to whatever you are sending and put it in the postbox (if it fits)

Size limits are international and designed for optimum efficiency - the large envelope size will fit into almost all letterboxes, so no need to ring a doorbell and wait for answering, hence its efficient and costs less.
