Bike(s) security options

    Hi all,

    Looking for some advice/suggestions/experiences please.

Mrs S wants the bikes out of the kitchen as they've outstayed their welcome. One is a trail mtb and the other a road bike. Combined value is high enough so I don't like the idea of putting them in my 10 year old wooden shed with questionable strength.

I need a new outdoor option.
    I have a max budget of €1000
I originally wanted a steel shed but with a concrete floor/waterproof membrane it comes in around €1500 for a 10x6ft.
The wooden shed I have will be fine for a few more years structurally but I might need to do the roof again.

Can anyone suggest what would be the best option?

    Thanks in advance.

Maybe go for a smaller steel shed that could fit into your budget.
You could use wall anchors in the concrete floor then to secure your bikes.

Maybe look at Clane Steel Sheds, google them.

I was looking for something similar to you last year and didn't want to go down the concrete base route either. The shed frame is made from box section steel so you don't need a supporting base. The bikes can be locked inside to the frame as well.

Give them a call for prices, there might be something within your budget?

Very happy with mine I have to say.

I have a clane steel shed, it's the smallest one they make, fits 3 bikes and other bits in there too,

Going out to Clane sheds display area during the week. Seems good value, will report back if I go ahead. Thanks for your help.

I've one of the Clane steel sheds and I got the insulated roof option so no moisture dripping down into my bikes. I lock my bikes to the steel box frame and you'd need an angle grinder to cut through that. However my dogs will have eaten you before you even scratched the steel! Much more secure option than a wooden shed.

Ordering a clane steel shed this week. Thanks for the input all.
Any recommendation for a padlock type lock or better for the single latch on the steel door?
