Washing Machine Not Completing Cycles - What is the issue?

    Hi all,

I am hoping someone can advise on this.

Our integrated washing machine stops half way through a cycle, the door jams and it gets stuck on a humming noise. The lights flash at the top.

I have tried releasing the valve but that has not fixed it.

Any thoughts on the issue? Do I need to call a repair person?

    Cheers.

What is the make & model?
The flashing lights usually signify an error code, different flashes for different faults.
It may be worth googling this information to see what the flashing lights are "saying".

    eg. "make model error codes"

    Thanks.

The washing machine is an Ariston machine. The model number is not visible on the integrated unit.

Google says it could be a motherboard issue or a motor issue. I suspect that it is a motor issue because the motor has been making strange noises lately.

Is a motor easy to replace? What is the usual cost? Cheers.

humming noise and getting stuck mid cycle sounds like a pump issue, set it for drain only and see if it gives the same sound , it may also be a clogged filter on the inlet valve which can give a buzzing sound
