Facebook upheaval

Facebook suddenly announced a couple of days ago that I had a page that was 'apparently a business, community or organisation' (or something like that) that I was using as an individual, and that I had to change it to something else.

After a great deal of fighting with fb I managed to do what they were telling me, but I now have a page which is what I was trying to start in the first place but it has no information in it, and the group page, which is the one that matters, and has all the posts that we want to keep in it, has lost all posts by the group name, and will not let me post as 'group name', in spite of ticking a box saying who I want to post as. Yes I know that is confusing, I am totally confused. And no, they have not migrated to the new page, they are just gone.

None of this would have happened if fb gave some clearer explanations of what they offer, initially. 'What kind of page/group/whatever do you want', they say, without saying what the difference between a page and a group is, and what each offers. Now I have some sort of idea, but when I was starting out on creating pages I had no idea how much I did not know. And when you have created an identity you cannot lose it.

I made another page recently in the same way as as the one that has been refused, fortunately it is not in use yet, and I can change it to the type they are looking for. It would have been much easier if the whole thing were made clearer though.
