SaorView TV question

Got a new TV few months ago, it says it has saorview built in, so what do I need to do to watch it? Does a normal on aerial on the roof with jackplug work, or do I need some kind of special cable/dish?

Stupid me had assumed you just turn on the TV and the channels would be there..

Depending on your location, you may be able to use an indoor aerial to receive Saorview.

Thanks lads, will try an indoor one first, them old bunny ear aerial for indoors is it?

Do you not get all the BBC and channel 4 ect? The website just has the Irish channels?

The bad news is that with Saorview you can only get Terrestrial TV - i.e. RTE TV3 TG4 UTV Irl E3 etc - if you want BBC, ITV, Ch 4, Ch5, etc you also need to install a Satellite Dish and a satellite Set Top Box (depending of course on where you are located).

If your TV has satellite tuner built in - like Saorview tuner - then all you need is the Dish set up and the feed from the aerial and the dish combined (and split up at point of input possibly) - since I dont know if there are separate inputs on your TV for Terrestrial (from your Aerial) and satellite (from your dish)

A good investment for years to come - the expense that is - and that's good news.

NO. They are VHF aerials for FM and DAB radio. You need a UHF aerial.
