Has anyone any thoughts in silver at the moment? Got a phone call from a friend this evening who is planning on investing 13k into it next week and he was trying to get me to join him. Any thoughts?

I think a 50:50 split of gold and silver would be better than exclusively silver, so your precious metal bets are hedged a bit (both are down a lot from 2011 highs)
If there is an economic crisis, gold might do well as it is a flight to safety, but silver (which is more of an industrial metal) would do badly.

Get new friends! IMO someone who tries to cajole another person into an investment does fit the criteria for friends!

Do your own research and invest yourself would be my thoughts.

Earlier this year, I purchased Silver Bullion Coins. Can anyone suggest where I could sell them in Ireland, when the price is right ? As the dealer will only give me spot price or less. While I paid spot price + vat + premium at time of purchase. Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you go through a dealer, there will always be some sort of cost on buying and selling. You could try going through adverts.ie or donedeal.ie if you are looking to sell. What kind of bullion are you looking to sell? Sometimes silver bullion can command a small premium to spot.
