Im planning on heading there from Delgany tômoro.
I ask cos I did that route two weeks ago approx, my first cycle since breaking my right wrist early november. I was coming down from the top, it flattened out and I spotted a flipped over Suzuki jeep a few 100 yards ahead.
I slowed down but still managed to take a fall on my left side, thankfully the opposite wrist to the one that was broke. Tho when I broke the right one in november, the same fall also badly injured the left wrist!
I also whacked my ribs hard, still sore now. Could well be a broken one there. Not much you can do with those tho, just let them heel. Ive done one cycle since, which was yesterday. It was fine as long as I stayed in the saddle, getting up out of it hurt the ribs a bit.
So hoping the ice on the Altidore - Roundwood route is gone as I dont fancy another fall! Anyone know?

There was no ice/frost etc. at the Sally Gap/Kippure/Luggala a few days ago if that's any use.

Drove that road last weekend, no ice but some humongous potholes.

Went well, no accidents or broken bones!
Altidore is a steep fecker, very tough.
Only my 2nd time doing it (first was a few weeks ago when I fell on black ice!). Ive been off sugar since Jan 4th, so Ive dropped a few pounds and deffo felt the benefit of that already today.
Wasnt cold at all really, a bit windy but nothing major. Cycled over from Delgany and onto Roundwood, same route back.
Not sure of distances or speed as Ive no computer on the bike at present. Havent fitted the garmin I bought 2nd hand on here months ago!
Anyway, a nice cycle which I will deffo do again. Good to be getting back out on the bike.

Yer not kidding, all those little roads from the N11 up towards Roundwood are very steep. Try Red Lane (beside the Glanview Hotel) next time :)
