Booking seats with booking reference

    Hi all,

I need to go to Cork next week and my company have booked train tickets (given me the reference) for me but I am trying to pre-book a seat so I can sit next to someone on a separate booking reference.

Is it possible to do this through the irishrail website like an airline ticket? It's a first class ticket if that makes any difference?

Of which, what's the difference between standard and first? Is it purely the carriage or do you get free tea/coffee or anything?

    Thanks!

If you have a reference number, go to a ticket machine enter the number out comes ticket

All tickets sold online include a reservation, assigned seat is printed on the ticket

Your employer is wasting money, first class on Irish Rail is random and a joke most of the time
