2:30 Doncaster - Night In Milan (7/1) this one has been steadily dropping down the ratings and goes again in class 4 company. Handicap rating over hurdles is only 119, as opposed to 139 that it goes over for fences, so not at all surprising they're looking to take full advantage. Overall record at Donny is quite good, and I am prepared to forgive this one's woeful showing over hurdles here last time where it clattered a few and just jumped awfully. The run last time out at Musselburgh was much better, and suggested that it's got the hang of jumping hurdles again.

7:15 Wolverhampton - Victor's Beach (10/1) went over to Wolverhampton a few weeks back and was so bad you couldn't believe it. The form line for the race doesn't do justice to how badly it ran.
Slowly into stride, held up, pulled hard, headway to lead over 6f out, soon hung left ridden over 3f out, headed 2f out, eased from over 1f out
Tomorrow sees it out again over the course and distance, and I'm hoping that last time's experience should put this in better stead tomorrow. This is a bottom of the barrel race with plenty of well handicapped types though. Star Links is well done in the ratings, but might be a case that this ten year old just doesn't want to run anymore. Victor's Beach on the other hand is still young enough, and has shown some nice form at a much higher rating as little as a year ago. Again this is garbage racing, but off the same ratings, I am inclined to take Irish handicap horses over British ones, especially when they're priced as outsiders.

Biggest bet in years on Star Links tomorrow in the last at Wolv but with a view of cashing out 15/2. If he's weak I'll cash out to lose 10% of the stake if not I'll keep some. He was massively backed off 65 back in August he's down to 49 after some shocking runs but down to a class 7 and the booking of Spencer is a sign of intent.

Chanced two at Dundalk willie Browne's filly Lifting me Higher and Rummaging

Davy Russell going to Huntingdon for one ride, Singlefarmpayment in the 2:40
Not a huge price at 3/1, but stepping up to 3 miles seems to be the making of this horse, and still has plenty of scope for improvement.

Hopeless, certainly not going near that again until it shows something.

That ride by Ana O'Brien on Bishan Bedi was just appalling in the last in Dundalk. Not pocket talk as I was on rummaging but to get caught that far off the pace when they set for home was inexcusable in a 6 runner handicap

Sportingbet went 6/1 on Lifting Me Higher, so I took that.
The drift is a little worrying, trainer is usually shewed enough.

    The Butches Filly 20-1 8.00
Traveled well around here last week over same distance, took 4th. It's on bottom weight here and I see it placing at least.
I think it's good value here at 20-1.

    2pts ew 20-1

    Gaoth Tire 33-1 8.30
I like this. Should improve again for it's two recent runs.
3 lengths off Excelli two back who won again tonight

    1pt win 33-1

Ben Rumson in the last @ 5/2

    Should go very close

Today was one of those days. backed 3 horses that halved in price and no profit. What chances Cape explorer to bail me out in the last:pac:

    Master Chippy 10-1 9.00
Ran a really good race over C&D two back, disappointing last run. I think in the group which
contain few horses that need a run it will take advantage of it's fitness to win

    2pts win 10-1

After a crap day, picked out Alhansar in the 8.30 to claw back a few quid.decided I'd have a small bit of those winnings on the last at DD. Came on looking for what my boards brothers had a go at and seen Cape Explorer mentioned by sddoc13. Had a smally on it. Cheers man.
