Nissan Connect bluetooth pairing with Moto G 3rd gen

    I hope that this is the right forum for my query and I would be very grateful for any assistance. I have a Nissan Qashqai 2012 ntec+ (on an extended test drive) which has Nissan Connect interface. I've tried to pair my Moto g 3rd generation with it countless times and am unable to do so. I've looked in the Qashqai forums.co.uk but am unable to get any info. FWIW the phone's OS is Lollipop 5.1.1 and the BT software is Bluetooth v4.0, A2DP, LE.
    The OH's Vodaphone Ultra with Lollipop and my son's iPhone 5 have no problems pairing with nissan connect. Also, the Moto g has no problem pairing in a 07 Focus or a firend's bog-standard 2012 Qashqai. I also tried Nissan online support but got nowhere.
    Failing this I'll have to change the phone.
    I would appreciate any advice, thanks
