I have sky news hd stored in other channels but since yesterday I'm getting the 'No signal is being received.' message. I've tried to see if there was any change in the settings and according to the DS regular thread the FEC has changed but I'm still getting the no signal message with the updated settings.
Can anyone help me please? MTIA

That's what I used, the settings from that DS thread but I'm getting the no signal message.

My mother prefers the UK feed as the Irish ads drive her crazy so I had it in other channels until yesterday when it vanished.

    Thanks for the replies.

OP is not using Sky. Majority of posters on this forum use satellite dish and receiver to free to air stations.

I am indeed a Sky customer, full HD subscription. Sorry for not being clear about that.

I guessed u were a sky hd customer when u said u were adding it to other channels so you were perfectly clear hence why I asked earlier why u need to add it to other channels when it should be on ch no 501 on the channel guide if you have hd or 516 but scrambled if you don't take the hd pack?

Like I said, I had the UK version to avoid the ads. I watch itv 'live' via other channels as well rather than endure UTV Ireland. Otherwise I watch recordings where ads don't matter :D

Can understand about itv but sky hd is 501 on uk and irish cards so theirs no need to add it to the other channels

Ok, I assumed you weren't as I don't understand why you haven't got Sky News in your normal EPG.

He has Sky news on his EPG but it's the irish version on 12363, V, 29500, 8/9. He wants to watch the UK version, 12460, H, 29500, 8/9, through 'other Channels'.

The parameters given above are correct, I've just rechecked them by scanning here, Sky News HD appears fine. You should reboot your box and then try again to store the channel.

The UK HD version is the same as the Irish HD version, with different ads. You can't 'avoid' ads on the UK version.

Why do people think there are no ads on the UK version?

Awful station anyway, I watch Al Jazeera more now.

It was not the ads per se that were being avoided but the Irish ads. The UK ads do not annoy as much, apparently.

If it comes to that, BBC News has even less ads and is less 'tabloidy' (if there is such a word)

Well, the usual expression would be 'Red Top' but I think the BBC News channel is quite red top - at least in its colour scheme. :)

I thought they were more 'red bottomed' :D

I never said that there aren't ads on the channel, I said I wanted to avoid the Irish ads. My mother likes to see the paper review at night, hence the question that I'm almost sorry I asked :D

(And I am a she, not a he.)

Just ran a complete rescan of 28e, Sky News HD UK has indeed had changes - looks like just the sid.

Sky News HD UK is :- 12.460 H 29500 8/9 (same as before)

Just delete the channel in your "other channels" and rescan the above frequency to sort it.

Actually you did in an earlier post where you said you wanted the UK news so as to avoid ads. That's why there has been a bit of confusion.

I said it was the Irish ads I wanted to avoid which doesn't imply to me that the UK feed is ad free but I should have been clearer.
