    Hi all
I am trying to set up an alba saorview box to an old TV in my fathers house. I have tuned channels in on my own TV through the box and all is fine.
When I plug the aerial cable directly into a saorview TV at my fathers the channels are all working, however when I run the aerial cable through the saorview box and scart to the same saorview tv it says no signal. Am I missing something?
I'm only using a saorview TV to test it, I hope to use box on an old TV.

Signal too weak to survive the loop through the Alba box to the TV? Can you see the signal strength/quality readings separately via the Alba and TV menu's?

When you loop though to the TV via the Alba do you power the box off?

Did you rescan the box at your father's house? He won't necessarily be on the same transmitter as yourself, even if he lives nearby.

I never checked the signal strength, I will next time I'm there. I did try powering the box off.
If I try to rescan for channels it says no channels found after scan, that's why I scanned on my own TV. But when I take saorview box out of the equation and plug cable directly into TV everything is ok

But the box works fine on my own TV at home.

Developed a fault between the 2 houses?
Signal strength/quality issue at your father's house, tuners can vary with how they handle a weak/strong signal?

I brought the box back to mine and it works fine. Would I need something to boost the signal ?

First you need to know how good or bad the signal is, too much (tuner overload) can be as bad as too little (digital cliff).

Can you use the existing TV's signal meter to get an indication?

Is your father's signal coming from the same transmitter simply auto tune again when connected in your dads and make sure you are selecting the correct source e.g ext1 or equivalent on your tv...
