Simple question. If you had the choice of a 2011 A4 2.0 tdi or a 2102 passat 1.6tdi which would you choose?

Take the 2102 Passat, strip it and sell the tech that's 86 years advanced to VW.

The Passat has more space than the A4 but the 2.0 TDi engine is alot nicer than the 1.6 TDi especially in a car the weight and size of an A4/Passat.

You need to be a bit more specific on the each model though. For example an A4 S Line would be alot nicer than a Passat Trendline while a Passat Highline would be alot nicer than a bog standard A4.

That model Audi didnt suffer from oil pump drive issues , it was the earlier 2.0 that did.

    I have a bog standard 09 A4. The father has a higher spec 08 passat 1.9.
Id take the A4 over the passat any day. Way nicer engine, more power, more refined, quieter cabin. The passat will have electric handbake problems. The audis arent known for electric handbrake problems.
In your case the 1.6 engine is underpowered for a car the size of the passat
