A bit of both I heard. 40 staff moving over from London, with 60 extra to be hired this year.

I wonder how much of this is a 'hedge' against a Brexit?

If Brexit is off the table i'd expect this to close.

Anybody remember the oil exchange that was in Dublin for a while? All UK relocates who flew in monday and out again thurs nite/fri lunchtime.

I'd say it's as much about overhead savings and tax as much as it is hedging but they seem to be looking to grow. The savings on salaries, leases etc will be worthwhile doing just as a comparison to their London offices.

Almost everything with the actual trading strategies are running on servers located in Colo sites anyway so there are few if any latency issues. There is very little benefit to actually being based in London anymore for the actual trading floor. Their sales and customer facing roles need to be there but everything else can be located elsewhere.

Opened this morning to great fanfare...are these mostly relocations moves or new hires does anyone on the grapevine know?

I know of one chap who started with them last June, they are just waiting on some licenses to come through before they could make the official opening announcement.

They have also been advertising open positions since the middle of last year.
