Job Hunting and Leave Required Later in Year!

    Hi Folks,

Theoretically if you have an extended period of leave required later in the year (3.5 weeks for my wedding + honeymoon which is all booked). Would this stop you hunting for a new job? Or would you hunt and just be upfront about it obviously. I am considering looking around for new role and would obviously be upfront about it but in people's experience do people think I should wait till after this leave and then look around?

    Thanks,

    Chris85

No I would continue to job hunt and then only mention it if you get to second round interviews.

I think it depends on how close it is to the interview time. Say you interview at the start of Feb & have leave planned for start of March, I might mention it at the end. If the leave isn't until September then I'd only bring it up if the offer was progressing.

I was up front with 2 & 1/2 holiday booked when I was offered the interview. The agent said no it's not ok and hung up the phone.

Keep job hunting and just before you sign after job offer tell them. It's cost money to find people and if they want you a few weeks off should not effect a job that much. If they are not happy then maybe it would not be a good place to work any way.

Good luck with the job hunt. Keep your card to you chest until you need to play them :)
