Zetor 6340 - Headlights not working

The Headlights stopped working in my Zetor 6340 at the weekend. They were fine all last week including Friday. Didn't need them on Saturday, and wouldn't work Sunday or since.

The full Headlights, Dims or Lights on the top of the Cab won't come on via the switch. The only front lights that will come on is the two small lights either side of the cab. Indicators & Back lights are all fine.

The Funny thing is that you can Flash the headlights by tipping the indicator stalk, and this still works.

It sounds like a straight forward fuse problem, but I have had a good look at the fuses and they all seem fine.

I have show a picture of the fuses below as well as the Layout I got from a Manual online.

Has anyone any idea where else I could look ?

Could there be another fuse somewhere ?

I am clutching at straws but could a blown bulb somewhere be knocking them all out ? I know the Headlight bulbs are not blown because they will come on via the "Flash" on the stalk

    Thanks in Advance

I've never worked on Zetors but it looks to me that the lights you need are through 6,7 and 8 i.e. upper and lower beams. The one that's working is on fuse 1 i.e. headlamp flasher.

It could be that there is either a switch fault as mentioned or an issue with a relay. The switch should only activate a relay for the lights so if the relay is goosed then you would have the same fault. The headlamp flasher function must be through a different relay for some reason. No doubt someone with a better understanding of these machines will sort you out with an answer.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think its the physical switch, as it feels fairly OK.

But I did see a thingy connected to Fuses 6 & 7 (Lights) and after googling the Bosch part number on it, it turned out to be a Relay.

I have no real way of telling it it is working or now apart from swapping it out so I have ordered one of them just now from eBay and hopefully it will sort me out.

Off topic, but how nice to see a fuse box with decent screw-in connectors! These multi plug push on connectors are not nearly as good.

Technically you could bypass the relay with a piece of wire to see if its the problem. The relay works by using a small amount of current to activate a solenoid with makes the circuit on the larger current circuit. If you know which 2 pins belong to the large circuit, just join them with a small piece of wire and your lights should come on.
