The ICU announced recently that ratings lists will be published monthly at the beginning of each month, but the March one (which the ICU calls February for some reason) seems not to have appeared yet. People thinking of entering the Galway Congress need to know in advance which section (or sections) they are eligible to play in, so this is to let all potential entrants know that if the March/February list is not published by 15 March, we will be using the most recent list available on that date.

There are still some rooms left in the tournament venue, the Menlo Park Hotel, which are reserved for Galway Congress entrants, but the hotel will only hold them until Easter Monday (28 March), so if you are thinking of staying in the hotel, stop thinking and start booking! Details of how to book are available on the Congress webpage (scroll down).

Just a reminder that the reduced early-entry fee for the Galway Congress ends on Sunday 3 April, so if you want to save €10 get your entry in by then. See our website for all the info on how to enter: you can enter on-line and pay through PayPal, or enter by post. If you miss that date, do not fear: we will be delighted to take your entry next week, and take some more money off you!

Well, the PayPal button has just been updated, so no more early bird entry fees for you! They were available for four hours longer than intended because I was out, but the window of opportunity is now shut.
One guy entered at 00:03, clearly a fan of leaving things until the last minute...
The online payment option will no longer be available after 23:59 on Thursday, because that would be a pain in the neck, but entrants are welcome to come along to the venue and join on the day and pay the late-entry penalty, though entering before Friday would obviously be preferable...

The round pairings, results, etc. will be available here over the course of the weekend, for participants who want early warning of whom they are playing, those of you who are with us only in spirit, posterity, etc. We will try to keep them up to date.
