    Which order??

Airtight membrane on ceiling under joists - where it meets block wall

use mastic to stick to the smooth external block work and then scratch coat over (is this akward for the plasterer) then insulated slab and skim

Or scratch coat first and then apply mastic to fix membrane over that and then insulated slab, then skim

Thanks. I'm sure my plasterer won't be long telling me
which is best anyway but any opinions appreciated thanks

Yes, use mastic to stick to the smooth external block work and then scratch coat over. Is this your FF or GF of a bungalow? If you bring the membrane down below the level of the ceiling then you may not have to plaster over. If you're putting in a dropped ceiling then the plasterer can use the bagged airtite stuff at the top of the walls before the ceiling goes in. It just needs to be brought down below the level of the ceiling.
