Standalone versus inset stove

    Hello,

    I mulling over getting either a standalone stove or a inset stove ! just wondering which type is best ?

    This guy above has a long discussion on inset stoves and reckons somewhere in the blog that you need an additional 25-30 percent power over a standalone box type stove. In theory they are efficient, but there may be problems with the heat getting out (especially a large un-insulated stone walled room).
    There is nothing more disappointing than installing a stove and finding on a cold night that its not up to the job.
